Janis and I got to see Dallas Wayne and his band Haybale last night at the Continental Club, in Austin, along with Kelly, from Austin, and a friend. What a treat! It was a late night show on a Sunday night, and there was a crowd of people ready to dance and have fun. The band sounded great, and Dallas even dedicated ‘Shoeshine Man’ to Janis and I.
See them if you can, South Congress street was so much fun, tons of places to eat — I found a place selling tofu sandwiches, which is a treat for a vegetarian to find vegetarian street food that doesn’t involve cheese or bread. We didn’t eat there, concensus took us to a Mexican restaurant that was delicious, but it was still nice to see tofu on a menu.
You can see Dallas Wayne on the radio Monday through Friday, on Outlaw Country and Willie’s Roadhouse, on Sirius/XM Radio, playing other folks’ music. It was so much fun to get to see him live with Haybale in Austin. Thanks, Dallas.
