Farm Aid Board Members and Co-Directors
1. Last year, the Kansas Farmers Union was given a $10,000 Farm Aid grant “to empower and engage family farmers through legislation.”
2. Suspiciously on the same page each time, the last two annual KFU Policy Statements said that they endorsed the Uniform Partition of Heirs Property Act (aka the Save the Family Farm Act).
3. Neither the KFU lobbyist nor chief executive officer ever lobbied for the act.
4. On September 14th, I sent an email to the Farm Aid address in the proper form to request it be forwarded to specific Board members.
5. The email suggested that mention of the UPHPA during the forthcoming concert broadcast on CNN could help the 10 states that have struggled unsuccessfully to enact the UPHPA over the last 10 years. (23 states have already enacted it.)
6. That would have been at NO COST.
7. The Board of Directors staff leadership chose not to forward it.
