Farm Aid Eve started out with a rousing march from the Milwaukee Market to the Papst Theater, where the Farm Aid Eve Dinner and concert were held.

I wish could say thousands of us marched, but there were dozens of us and the enthusiasm was felt by everyone we passed, and we got lots of smiles and waves and honks of support.
We didn’t have a tractor, as it turned out, but we did have a polka band, with a tuba and a couple of accordians, and they didn’t just play polka music — they played everything.

We sang and marched singing everything from ‘Beer Barrel Polka’ to ‘I’ll Fly Away.’ I was disappointed there was no tractor, but only for about a minute. I just like the site of tractors driving through city streets, I guess.
There were dancing cows with signs, and cheese head babies, and party hats and horns being blown.

It was fun and the perfect way to start off the Farm Aid 25 celebration.
