It Was The Night Before the Willie Nelson Tickets Went On Sale, and all through the house….

Well, it’s Friday night, the night before tickets go on sale for the Legends Tour in Loveland next March, with Willie, and Ray Price, Merle Haggard and Asleep at the Wheel.  Tickets.  Ewww, getting tickets.  The first challenge you meet in your quest to get to the concert, and getting as close as you can to the front of the stage.

The purchasing ticket stage can be broken down into two categories:  reserved seating, or open seating.  I like open seating.   I can stay out all night or get up real early to go and get in line for Willie’s shows.  I am not young, but what I lack in speed, I make up with boldness.  And that just comes with experience!  By way of example, I know that once you are down front and center with 20 other people jostling folding chairs and bags, claim your space and sit down.  No room for hesitation.  So, even though it is nerve-wracking, it is so much fun to try to get up close at his shows.

Reserved seats mean grabbing the best seat you can.  Sometimes I buy extra tickets, keep the best and sell the others outside before the concert and make some fan’s day.  Sometimes Willie’s Club Luck fan association (www.clubluck.willienelson.com) offers tickets for sale before they open up to the public, but not for all the shows.  It’s up to the venues, I guess.  So I get extra tickets, then check back the night before the show, and look on e-bay and visit brokers’ site.  We fans do what we must. 🙂

So I have set my alarms, which I never do even when I fly, and left notes around the house, mirror, coffee pot, etc., reminding me that tickets go on sale at 10:00 tomorrow.  I know that the front rows are gone already, to the patron/donors who got first dibs for tickets.  I don’t care, I am really looking forward to the show.  I hope I can sleep tonight.  I’ll let you know how I do.
