Country singer Willie Nelson initiated the Willie Nelson Distance Classic Sunday at his Pedernales Country Club near Lake Travis in Austin. More than 1,000 runners entered the race which Nelson hopes to make an annual event. Nelson finished the hilly 6.2 mile coures in one hour, seven minutes and 45 seconds.
