Willie Nelson signed autographs for fans after the Dec. 29 and 30th shows in Austin. Paintings, posters, hats, bandannas, cell phones, shirts, tickets, hats, he signed them. I don’t know how he does it, bending over like that for so long, for autographs, photos, kisses and hugs. He gives so much. On the last night, New Year’s Eve, the show didn’t start until 11:30, and Willie and his band played well into the New Year, interrupted by signing Auld Lang zine and Happy Birthday to Sister Bobbie. It was a rowdy crowd, and he would have been there until dawn if he’d started signing autographs and meeting and greeting after the show at the front of the stage.
