Willie Nelson called and talked with Larry King on CNN tonight and talked about Farm Aid, and the upcoming fundraising concert in St. Louis, Missouri on October 4, 2009.  Willie talked about the history of Farm Aid, and that the need is as great as ever, or greater, to help our farmers.  When Larry asked how the difficult economic times had effected farmers, Willie responded that the Farmers, ‘the first rung on the economic ladder’ were the first to suffer, and continue to suffer.

He said he never thought there would be an on-going need to support the family farmers.  “I thought we’d have a concert, bring some attention to the issue, and we’d get a good farm bill.”  Now, 29 years later, the need is as as great as ever, or greater.
