Willie Nelson and “On the Road Again” are like butter and biscuits–you can’t have one without the other. Nelson’s signature song, written at the request of the executive producer of his 1980 movie Honeysuckle Rose, was Nelson’s sixth No. 1 hit as a solo act, his ninth overall, and his biggest pop hit to date. In 2007, Nelson was honored with the Americana Music Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award for Songwriting.
