MISSION — Willie Nelson is coming back to the Rio Grande Valley.
Nelson, who last played in the Valley in 2008 on South Padre Island, is scheduled to perform Saturday, Feb. 27, at Las Palmas Race Park, 7509 N. Taylor Road, Mission.
General admission tickets cost $30 and go on sale Jan. 23 at Cavender’s Western Outfitter, 3300 E. Expressway 83, McAllen, and on www.ez-tixx.com.
Nelson’s fans can also reserve tables, which range in price from $500 to $750. Each table seats 10 people.
Members of Nelson’s fan club may be able to purchase advance tickets. For more information about the fan club, visit www.willienelson.com.
Nelson’s last Valley visit saw him headlining the now-defunct South Padre International Music Festival in October 2008. He topped a bill that included Blue Öyster Cult, Foghat, Los Lonely Boys and more than 50 other acts.
Nelson played to a crowd of several thousand people in a drained pool at Schlitterbahn Beach Waterpark.
The 76-year-old has announced a 31-date tour for January and February. In addition to the show in Mission, Nelson and his band will travel throughout Texas, Louisiana, Virginia and Kentucky.
