In just a couple weeks the campaign will submit to the Secretary of State more than 155,000 total signatures in support of the Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol Act of 2012. This is far in excess of the 86,105 valid signatures needed to qualify for next year’s ballot, so we are in really great shape.
To celebrate this tremendous achievement and recognize the hundreds of supporters who helped make it possible, the campaign is throwing a big party on January 4th, from 6 pm to 9 pm, at the Industry Lounge in Denver (2046 Arapahoe St.). Along with a hearty supply of pizza and drinks, the event will feature an update on the campaign and awards for some of the volunteers who went above and beyond the call of duty.
All supporters are invited to attend for a donation of $10, but a token of our appreciation, admission is FREE for anyone who volunteered on the petition drive.
We hope everyone who wants to attend the event will be able to make it, but we realize there are volunteers and supporters all over Colorado and some might not be able to get to the Denver. We apologize for that and are always looking for ways to include as many people as possible. It is our sincere hope that as the campaign moves forward and continues to build there will be more events throughout the state.
Finishing the petition drive is an important milestone, but it is not an ending point. There is so much more to come and the work is just beginning, so stay tuned for more information about the plan for next year and how you can help. But for now, it is time to celebrate!
