Congratulations to Mickey Raphael on this recent 2019 Academy of Country Music Awards nomination for Specialty Instrument Player of the Year.
he Academy of Country Music announced ACM Awards nominees in the industry and studio categories. The winners will be acknowledged during the 12th annual ACM Honors ceremony, an evening dedicated to recognizing the special honorees and off-camera category winners from the 53rd ACM Awards.
The ACM Honors will take place on Aug. 22 at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.

Thank you so much to dear Janis Tillerson from Texas for her great photos from the showing at the Austin Film Festival of the movie, “Waiting for the Miracle to Come” yesterday. The movie was filmed at Willie Nelson’s Luck, Texas western town/movie set on his ranch outside of Austin, and it’s fun to see his ranch as a big part of the movie.
“Waiting for the Miracle to Come” was written and directed by Australian filmmaker Lian Lunson and stars Willie Nelson and Charlotte Rampling.

Wednesday, August 1st, 2018Seth Avett wrote and performed this tribute to Willie Nelson, “Willie Got There First”, which will appear on the Asleep at the Wheel album ‘New Routes’, out September 14, 2018
The album was recorded for the project by Seth Avett, Scott Avett and Ray Benson with Asleep At The Wheel. The recording also features Mickey Raphael on harmonica and Bobbie Nelson on piano.
