“You’re either in Luck, or you’re out of Luck,” as Willie Nelson likes to say, and he should know.
Luck, Texas is Willie’s private Old West town located just outside of Austin, and home of the annual “Luck Reunion” artisanal music and culture celebration, held amidst the madness of SXSW.
With Willie himself headlining the main stage, this year’s “Luck Reunion” offered an impressive array of artists on multiple stages. SiriusXM Outlaw Country listeners can hear a two-hour special featuring highlight performances from Margo Price, Parker Millsap, Valerie June, Brent Cobb, Aaron Lee Tasjan and Lily Meola, as well as Willie’s sons Lukas with Promise of the Real, and Micah with Insects Vs. Robots, plus a guest spot from Billy Joe Shaver with his old compadre on “Willie the Wandering Gypsy and Me.”

Willie’s exclusive SiriusXM Willie’s Roadhouse channel will also air a one-hour “Luck Reunion” special, featuring his complete set, along with an exclusive backroom conversation with host Dallas Wayne.
Recorded at Willie’s Luck World Headquarters clubhouse, additional “artist roundtables” were hosted by Texas hill-country hero Ray Wylie Hubbard, who teamed with Ray Benson of Asleep at the Wheel, Brent Cobb, Valerie June and Paul Thorn, and SiriusXM “Loon in the Afternoon” Mojo Nixon, joined by Margo Price, Aaron Lee Tasjan, Paul Cauthen and Parker Millsap.

One of the best parts of the annual Luck Reunion, is the reunion of friends we get to see only at Willie Nelson concerts. It’s always so much fun.
Terry and Jenny from Oklahoma came for the reunion. And sweet Cherie and Rhonda.

And sweet Cherie and Rhonda.
Here’s Janis and her new friend from Alaska.

Dano from Hawaii, and musician and radio host on SiriusXM Radio, Dallas Wayne.

I see these guys every time I come to Texas. And I think on or the other of them always get a bandanna from Willie. Must be their smiles, who could resist.

So fun to see Karen and Linda.
Esther and friends.

Friends from Colorado, Pete and Carla, and Lisa from California.

nd I got to hang out with Baron Lane, from California. Check out his webpage at www.TwangNation.com.

John Herring, filming the sets for all of us, with his lovely other half, Jesse

It’s always a treat to get to see Dallas Wayne in his Sirius/XM Radio Station at the ACL Moody Theater in downtown Austin. Cherie and I caught up with him before the live broadcast of Willie Nelson and Family and Friend’s concert. You can hear Dallas on Willie’s Roadhouse and Outlaw Country on SiriusXM Radio.

“Thank you to the Grand Ole Opry for making me feel so welcome last night! Everyone in the ?#?Opry? family was very kind, and the talented pickers and singers in the Opry staff band are simply amazing. They say your Grand Ole Opry debut is a memorable experience, and trust me, they’re right! Grateful, humbled and honored. Thank You.” — Dallas Wayne?

Dallas Wayne is more than just a sexy voice on the radio – (Sirius/XM radio: Wille’s Road House, Outlaw Country) — he’s also a sexy voice on a record album! He has a new album out, too, with a long, familiar track list of songs we know and love. Dallas invited several of his country music friends to sing the hits with him on the album, just take a look below. This will be one of those albums you just keep listening to over and over. Thanks, Dallas!

“The official release date of my new album Songs The Jukebox Taught Me is May 20, but early-bird copies are now available exclusively from my website and from Heart of Texas Records. After more than ten albums of mostly original material, I’ve chosen to pay tribute to the heroes and teachers who taught me this music. I’m honored to have some of my personal heroes and friends as very special guests on the album, and I hope you enjoy the new record as much as we enjoyed making it.
To mark the May 20th release date, I’ll be in Nashville that week, performing as well as broadcasting my radio show from the SiriusXM Nashville studios. On Saturday May 21, I’ll perform on the Grand Ole Opry and be the musical host of the Ernest Tubb Midnite Jamboree. And on May 23-24, I’m proud to take part in a TV taping of RFD TV’s Country’s Family Reunion for a special Tribute to Merle Haggard.”

Paula Nelson joins Dallas Wayne on Wednesdays on Willie’s Roadhouse, on Sirius/XM Radio. Great music, great conversations. Perfect music for the soundtrack of your life, whatever you are doing. I’m baking for Thanksgiving today, and the music is perfect.
Sirius/XM offers so much more than this channel, but it’s the reason I keep subscribing!

On August 8th the Texas Country Music Hall Of Fame honored Dallas Wayne and Tracy Byrd. The 18th annual awards show was held at the Carthage Texas Civic Center.
About the event, Dallas Said:
“Fortunately, I was not speechless at the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame induction wink emoticon Thanks for a memorable weekend.:
I would like to thank the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame for this incredible honor. I am proud and humbled to be joining such an esteemed class on the Disc Jockey Wall of Fame.
The previous 11 gentlemen on the wall have been our teachers in broadcasting and in country music. Bill Mack, Tom Perryman, Joe Allison, Larry Scott, Charlie Walker and the rest, set the gold standard for not only bringing this music to radio, but more importantly, believing in it and loving it.
But that’s only a small part… because frankly it’s a pretty easy and satisfying job to play this wonderful music every day on the radio.
The amazing part of that is we could never do it without the folks who let us into their homes each day, who love this music as much as we do. They keep this music alive and not only inspire us in radio, but also inspire the artists who are honored here at the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame. None of us could do our jobs without you.I want to thank Jeremy Tepper, Willie Nelson and the folks at SiriusXM for believing in what we try to do every day on the radio, and sharing the belief that traditional country music is a living, breathing, true American art form.
I want to thank Tommie Ritter Smith and all the folks at the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame for their dedication, drive and vision, and for building a world-class tribute to the Lone Star State’s significant contributions to country music.
It is because of that dedication, drive and vision that future generations who will visit the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame will come to know, love and honor this music as much as we all do.
Once again, thank you for this honor, and thank you for keeping this music in your hearts.”
