Erin Joyce is an independent curator, art critic, and scholar of contemporary art. Erin is the editor-in-chief of ULTRA:EXTRA Magazine, an arts and culture writer for Art Wednesday (London), and contributing writer to Hyperallergic (New York).

Erin’s projects include exhibitions throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Middle East/NorthAfrica region. Erin has also served as a consultant for SXSW on the implementation of art during the festival and was the inaugural art editor for Aslan Media Inc., a contributor to Salon, Gnovis Journal, and content writer for the Modern Art Iraq Archive.

As a curator, Erin seeks to bend the notion of how contemporary art is presented and understood. Looking both inside and outside the construct of the museum and gallery as venue for art presentation, Erin seeks to refract art through the prism of the environment and contexts in which it was created.

J. Micah Nelson

J. Micah Nelson comes from a lineage of musical and cultural pioneers, growing up touring with his father Willie Nelson and his brother Lukas Nelson, he has always been surrounded with vibrant and authentic creative spirits. Both a talented visionary artist and iconoclastic musician, he has performed on shows like Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, and at events like SXSW, FarmAid, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Neil Young’s Bridge-School Benefit. He has showcased his artwork and music in countless other venues, spanning the creative spectrum. From his involvement in the psych-punk-orchestra Insects vs. Robots, his live performance-painting and multi-instrumental contributions to the band POTR with his brother Lukas, to his cymatic visualizations of dancing water molecules, idiosyncratic charango performance, and singing/songwriting/guitar playing with his neo-psych-folk-rock band Pårticle Kid, Micah is constantly exploring the symbiosis of light/sound/vibration, striving to discover new emotions through various forms of expression, and seeking to touch the outer reaches of the synesthetic experience.

Legendary singer song-writer Willie Nelson attended Global Green’s 10th annual pre-Oscar party. Nelson not only came out to support the cause, but also performed with his two sons to help raise money for Global Green’s efforts to build greener, more resilient homes, schools, and communities in areas devastated by Hurricane Sandy.

Ken Spector from LivingEco.com had the chance to talk to the country star and his family and ask them about the upcoming line-up for the Farm Aid concert, how the Nelsons go green in their daily life and why the small farmer is so important to the USA.
